Aveda
Aveda wanted to educate women about their line of hair color, which - rather than come out of a box - is specially created for each person. Naturally, we needed to create a personalized experience as well. We did that with ColorKarma.
After a woman answered a few basic questions, the ColorKarma website immediately gave her a playful glimpse of how changing the color of her hair could change everything else in her life. Facebook Connect allowed us to use very specific details (city, friends' names, favorite book, hobby) that surprised and charmed site visitors.
With a total of 150 "karmas" (written like Mad Libs so that each would be unique), this project allowed me to tap into my love of writing. In fact, I was both the Art Director and a co-Copywriter. It was a crazy-fun experience, topped off with a 2011 Webby nomination.
